Sakai Municipal Mihara History Museum (MC Mihara)

The grand concept for this museum is “masters of creating form.” It is a complex that includes exhibits with the main themes of the metal casting group in the middle-ages called the Kawachi Imoji, and the Kurohimeyama Tumulus from which metal armor from 24 territories has been excavated, along with a hall where you can come into contact with culture and art.

The “MC” in the name comes from “Museum” and “Community.”

[Heisei Temple Bell]

On June 30, 2012, the “Heisei Temple Bell” was placed in the temple tower to the east side of the museum entrance, a donation from the NPO Kawachi Imoji Honoring Association. This bell weighs 385kg, is 1.2m tall and has a diameter of 0.7m, and was created thanks to donations from the Honoring Association, citizens of Sakai, and other companies.
